CYO uses both email and the Remind app (available for iOS and Android) to keep in touch. All musicians and parents are automatically added to the email list after the audition process is completed, but if you are not getting emails from CYO you can subscribe here. For the Remind app, you can click here to sign up for our Season 23 reminders, or for text only alerts please enter number 81010 and text the message "@cyo23". We highly recommend both musicians and parents use the Remind app as this allows us to quickly communicate last-minute schedule changes, cancellations for weather, etc.

Each member of CYO is an integral participant in the experience. Your presence at every rehearsal is expected and necessary. All absences must be approved a minimum of one week ahead of time through the scheduling form here. Each musician is permitted no more than two absences per concert rehearsal schedule, and perfect attendance is encouraged to ensure the integrity of the orchestra.

Rehearsal start times are exact. If you arrive right when rehearsal starts, you are late. Be respectful of the scheduled times. Plan on walking into the rehearsal space a minimum of 15 minutes prior to start time for proper set up and warm up. Percussionists should plan on 30 minutes.

Water bottles are encouraged in every rehearsal.
Other liquid and any food are strictly prohibited in any rehearsal space.

Acceptable reasons to miss rehearsals are things like:
- ACT, SAT, PSAT testing
- Orchestra, band, chorus performances (not rehearsals)
- Medical emergency

Unacceptable reasons to miss rehearsals are things like:
- Prom hair and makeup appointments
- School orchestra and band "play-ins"
- School chamber music gigs. You may not schedule a gig during CYO rehearsals.

In extreme situations when the attendance policy is not adhered to, a musician may be asked to sit out a concert, be placed on the alternate list for the remainder of the year or be asked to re-audition. Tuition is not refunded in such events. Required school performances do not count towards your two absences.

Tuition for Season 23 is $425. Invoices will be sent via email to parents and guardians are due in full per the invoice. Tuition should be paid by credit card. Failure to provide tuition payment on time may result in late fees or musician suspension. If you require tuition assistance, please apply by submitting the tuition assistance form available here. Applications are due August 31, 2016 and evaluated on a first come, first served basis.

Students are required to participate in their public school music program if one is available. If you have a scheduling issue in school, a note from your school counselor or music teacher is needed excusing you from this requirement. Musicians are required to participate in private instruction

All CYO Members should aim for the highest professional standards of behavior, treating fellow musicians, CYO staff and volunteers, the facilities and equipment of our residence with respect. Alcohol and drug use is not permitted and grounds for dismissal from the orchestra.

Concert Dress

Concert shirts are provided to musicians for each performance. All students should have a pair of black dress pants, dark jeans and clean shoes for performances.

Concerts and rehearsals are recorded and photographed. All CYO members are expected to allow photo, audio and video recordings and to sign a release allowing CYO to make all images and recordings available for the benefit of the organization. Photographs are made available for purchase at
